BAEC is a four-year program that focuses on education, research, and community service. The curriculum of the program is designed to be completed in four years or eight semesters. Students need to take courses with a maximum amount of 144 SKS (credit points), which is equivalent to 214,56 ECTS. The program’s medium of instruction is Indonesian, although learning modules may be prepared in English. The courses comprise of compulsory courses and elective courses, which are offered every semester. Compulsory courses are the minimum required courses. Information pertaining to compulsory and elective courses will be provided in further detail in the module handbook.
Lectures are scheduled from Monday to Friday starting at 7 a.m. and ending at 5 p.m. A lecture consists of 16 sessions in which 14 are face-to-face and blended learning sessions, 1 is a midterm exam, and 1 is a final exam. Lectures are carried out with the assistance of various e-learning platforms such as e-Lisa, e-Lok, Google Classroom, and MOOC
The BAEC study program was initially established in 1985 based on SK DIKTI No. 22/DIKTI/KEP/1985 under the name Agricultural Extension and Communication Study Program. Currently, BAEC has been given an accreditation score of A (Excellent) by the National Accreditation Board. The academic year starts in the month of August and ends in the month of June every year. One academic year is divided into two semesters, namely odd semesters that starts in August and ends in December and even semesters that starts in February and ends in June. In the periods between the semesters, students may carry out Field Study/Community Service (KL/KKN) activities.
