Yogyakarta, May 20, 2025 — Students and alumni of the Extension and Development Communication (PKP) UGM Study Program presented their research findings in an exclusive masterclass with Dr. Harro Maat from the Knowledge, Technology and Innovation (KTI) Group, Wageningen University, the Netherlands. This event took place at the Faculty of Cultural Sciences (FIB) UGM and was part of Dr. Harro Maat’s guest lecture series, titled “The Colonial Reshaping of Agriculture on Java: The Role of Western Science and Farmers’ Knowledge” on May 19, 2025.
Yogyakarta, March 19, 2025 – The Agricultural Extension and Communication Study Program, Department of Agricultural Socio-Economics, Faculty of Agriculture UGM, together with the Prospect Institute, organized a guest lecture titled Prospect Talks #46 Goes to Campus with the theme “Future Agriculture: Agricultural Innovation and the Role of CSR in Achieving It”. This guest lecture featured speakers Rinda Primawarto, CSR Manager of PLN Nusantara Power, and Prof. Subejo, S.P., M.Sc., Ph.D., Vice Dean for Research, Community Service, and Cooperation at the Faculty of Agriculture UGM. In this event, Dani Bina Margiana, Training, Certification, & Publishing Supervisor, moderated the panel discussion.
Friday (March 7, 2025), students of the UGM Extension and Communication Study Program had a special opportunity to hold a sharing session with students from the Dept. of Asian Studies, Faculty of Foreign Studies, Nanzan University, Japan. The high enthusiasm of the participants turned the event into a forum for exchanging insights, getting to know each other’s cultures, and discussing interesting social issues.
One of the main topics in the presentation session from the Nanzan University colleagues was the “Free Meal” concept in Japan, which was then compared to similar programs in Indonesia. Through the discussion session, the participants exchanged opinions and broadened their horizons, realizing that despite cultural and systemic differences, both countries share the same spirit in maintaining social welfare through more inclusive access to food.
