On Wednesday, November 18, 2020, the Agricultural Extension and Communication Study Program held a guest lecture for the 2020 Agricultural Sociology course. In this guest lecture, Wilda Romadhona, as the Head of Regopantes, delivers her talk. Wilda Romadhona is also an alumnus of the Agricultural Extension and Communication Study Program, graduated in 2012. The lecture coordinators of the course also attended this guest lecture.
The main topic in this guest lecture was “Strategies to Develop IT to Farmers during the Industrial Revolution 4.0”. This topic becomes interesting to discuss, considering that Indonesia, as an agrarian country, must be the vanguard for agricultural development. In her lecture, Wilda Romadhona explained that one of the strategies that can be used to develop IT to farmers is to introduce start-ups about agriculture. In the era of industrial revolution 4.0, many agricultural start-ups greatly facilitate farmers in their farming activities.
Regopantes is a start-up headed by Wilda Romadhona. Regopantes is based on social entrepreneurship, which aims to solve problems in a particular social group. Regopantes is a bridge between farmers and consumers to conduct buying and selling transactions and, of course, with a price that “pantes” or reasonable that mutually benefit both parties. In addition, the existence of Regopantes start-up can also be a chain shortener of the current lengthy market chain in agriculture.
At the end of the lecture session, there was also a discussion between lecturers, speakers, and students. It is expected that this guest lecture can encourage students’ spirit and motivation to develop other ideas to help farmers.
