BAEC UGM Students Present Capstone Project Outcomes in Impactful Internship Final Seminar

The Bachelor of Agricultural Extension and Communication (BAEC) Study Program at Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM) held the Virtual Final Report Seminar for the Impactful Internship Capstone Project via the Zoom Meeting platform on Monday (15/6/2026). This agenda marked the conclusion of the Impactful Internship period that students had undergone in collaboration with various professional institutions.

The event was attended by the Head of the BAEC UGM Study Program, Ratih Ineke Wati, S.P., M.Agr., Ph.D., along with internal faculty supervisors, student interns, and external field supervisors from various partner institutions. read more

Enhancing Quality Assurance, Study Program of Agricultural Extension and Communication UGM Undergoes Field Assessment by LAM PTIP

The Study Program of Agricultural Extension and Communication (PKP) at Universitas Gadjah Mada underwent a Field Assessment (AL) process for accreditation and academic quality assurance by the Independent Accreditation Agency for Higher Education in Agriculture (LAM PTIP) from Sunday to Tuesday (7–9/6/2026). The event, centered at the Faculty of Agriculture UGM, hosted two assessors as the expert panel: Prof. Dr. Ir. Siti Herlinda, M.Si. and Prof. Dr. Ir. Soetriono, M.P.

The evaluation process commenced with the arrival and welcoming of the assessor team on Sunday (7/6/2026) by the management of the Study Program Management Unit (UPPS) and study program LOs. Intensive document verification and comprehensive interviews were subsequently carried out on Monday (8/6/2026) at the Dekanat Meeting Room and the Joglo Room of the Faculty of Agriculture, UGM. read more

PKP UGM Study Program Deploys Impactful Internship Program 2026: Preparing Students for the Workforce

The Bachelor of Agricultural Extension and Communication (PKP) Study Program, Faculty of Agriculture, Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM), officially conducted the deployment of the Impactful Internship Program 2026 on Wednesday, February 4, 2026, at Room 301, A10 Building (Department of Social and Economic Agriculture). This activity marked the commencement of the internship program as part of the implementation of the Merdeka Belajar Kampus Merdeka (MBKM) initiative.

The event was attended by students participating in the Impactful Internship program, along with department leaders, representatives from related study programs, and partner institutions that will serve as internship placements. The presence of these stakeholders reflects strong synergy between the university and its partners in enhancing students’ competencies through applied and contextual learning experiences. read more

PKP UGM Study Program Opens Recruitment for Practicum Assistants (KORPS ASISTEN PKP) 2026

The Bachelor of Agricultural Extension and Communication (PKP) Study Program, Faculty of Agriculture, Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM), has officially opened recruitment for the PKP Assistant Corps 2026. This initiative is part of the study program’s effort to identify and select competent students who are ready to contribute to academic activities, particularly in supporting learning processes and practicum sessions.

The recruitment is open to active PKP students from the 2023 and 2024 cohorts who demonstrate a strong commitment to academic and organizational development. Applicants are required to have a minimum Grade Point Average (GPA) of 3.00, have completed PKP-related courses such as PKP, MTPK, and POD, and possess qualities such as discipline, confidence, responsibility, and good time management skills. Professional work ethics are also considered an essential criterion in the selection process. read more

PKP UGM Lecturer Strengthens Indonesia–Japan Research Collaboration through Community Farming Practices

The Bachelor of Agricultural Extension and Communication (PKP) Study Program, Faculty of Agriculture, Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM), continues to expand its global engagement through international research collaboration. One of its lecturers, Alia Bihrajihant Raya, S.P., M.P., Ph.D., conducted a research activity in Japan focusing on community farming practices as part of efforts to enrich academic learning and community engagement.

During the activity, Alia Bihrajihant Raya and her team conducted direct observations of community farming practices and explored how such systems function as tools for community empowerment. These practices demonstrate that agriculture is not only about production, but also about fostering social collaboration, strengthening communities, and building sustainable food systems. read more

Guest Lecture: The Role of CSR in Multistakeholder Sustainable Agricultural Development

This guest lecture featured speakers Rinda Primawarto, CSR Manager of PLN Nusantara Power, and Prof. Subejo, S.P., M.Sc., Ph.D., Vice Dean for Research, Community Service, and Cooperation at the Faculty of Agriculture UGM. In this event, Dani Bina Margiana, Training, Certification, & Publishing Supervisor, moderated the panel discussion. read more

BAEC UGM and Nagoya University Student Sharing Session: Building Collaboration and Broadening Horizons

Friday (March 7, 2025), students of the UGM Extension and Communication Study Program had a special opportunity to hold a sharing session with students from the Dept. of Asian Studies, Faculty of Foreign Studies, Nanzan University, Japan. The high enthusiasm of the participants turned the event into a forum for exchanging insights, getting to know each other’s cultures, and discussing interesting social issues.

One of the main topics in the presentation session from the Nanzan University colleagues was the “Free Meal” concept in Japan, which was then compared to similar programs in Indonesia. Through the discussion session, the participants exchanged opinions and broadened their horizons, realizing that despite cultural and systemic differences, both countries share the same spirit in maintaining social welfare through more inclusive access to food. read more

Agricultural Extension and Communication Practicum 2023/2024

The Agricultural Extension and Communication course consists of 3 credits, namely two theory and one practical credit. The practice in Agricultural Extension and Communication is a part of the mandatory courses for all students of the Faculty of Agriculture.

Students expect to become more familiar with agricultural extension and communication activities through this practice activity. Moreover, through this practice, students can explain extension activities carried out by the government and the private sector. Students will also demonstrate the elements and stages of agricultural extension and communication in sustainable agricultural development. At the end of this practice, students can create creative agricultural extension and communication materials and demonstrate agricultural extension and communication activities to the public. read more
