The Bachelor of Agricultural Extension and Communication (PKP) Study Program, Faculty of Agriculture, Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM), officially conducted the deployment of the Impactful Internship Program 2026 on Wednesday, February 4, 2026, at Room 301, A10 Building (Department of Social and Economic Agriculture). This activity marked the commencement of the internship program as part of the implementation of the Merdeka Belajar Kampus Merdeka (MBKM) initiative.

The event was attended by students participating in the Impactful Internship program, along with department leaders, representatives from related study programs, and partner institutions that will serve as internship placements. The presence of these stakeholders reflects strong synergy between the university and its partners in enhancing students’ competencies through applied and contextual learning experiences.

In 2026, the PKP Study Program deployed a total of 39 students to various government and private institutions engaged in agriculture, human resource development, and related industries. The internship partner institutions include:

  • Badan Penerapan Modernisasi Pertanian DIY (BRMP DIY)
  • Dinas Pertanian, Pangan, dan Perikanan Kabupaten Sleman (DP3 Sleman)
  • Badan Pengembangan Sumber Daya Manusia Pertanian DIY (BPSDMP DIY)
  • Balai Pelatihan Pertanian Jawa Tengah (BAPELTAN Central Java)
  • PT Arjuna Wijaya Karya
  • Dinas Pertanian dan Ketahanan Pangan DIY (DPKP DIY)
  • Syngenta
  • PT Cipta Inovasi Berkelanjutan
  • Koperasi Produsen Energi Cakrawala Nusantara (PLN ULP Tuban)
  • Perum Bulog Kantor Cabang Magelang

As part of the program series, students also received a preparatory session titled “Preparing for the World of Work” delivered by Dian Fithriwati Darusmin, S.Psi., M.A., Psychologist. The session emphasized the importance of mental readiness, professionalism, and adaptability in navigating the increasingly complex dynamics of the professional world.

This deployment activity was not merely a ceremonial send-off but also a strategic step to ensure that students are well-prepared to take on their roles as agents of change in society. Through the Impactful Internship Program, students are expected to apply the knowledge they have acquired during their studies while contributing tangible outcomes to partner institutions and communities.

Furthermore, this initiative supports the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG 4 (Quality Education) and SDG 8 (Decent Work and Economic Growth), by enhancing experiential learning quality and strengthening graduates’ readiness to enter the workforce.

Through the successful implementation of this program, the PKP Study Program at UGM reaffirms its commitment to producing graduates who are competent, adaptive, and highly competitive, as well as capable of contributing to sustainable agricultural development.
